Answer #1

Solution :

This is the left tailed test .

The null and alternative hypothesis is

H0 : p = 0.50

Ha : p < 0.50

n = 100

= 0.39

P0 = 0.50

1 - P0 = 1 - 0.50 = 0.50

Test statistic = z

= - P0 / [P0 * (1 - P0 ) / n]

=0.39- 0.50 / [(0.50*0.50) / 100 ]

= -2.2

Test statistic = z = -2.2

P(z < -2.2 ) = 0.0139

P-value = 0.0139

= 0.01

P-value >

0.0139 > 0.01

Fail to reject the null hypothesis .

There is not sufficient evidence to suggest that
