  1. What is the test statistic and p-value?
  2. Compare p-value to 0.05 and make your decision.
  3. What is the conclusion in context?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Using Minitab software:-

Ans:-

The test statistic is

Null hypothesis: All means are equal

Alternative hypothesis: Not all means are equal

Significance level alpha=0.05

Comparison of p-value (probability value) is 0.072

P-value > alpha value

0.072 > 0.05

The decision is:- accept the null hypothesis

Conclusion: The conclusion of the above husband and wife data is stated as the top. Prior to the test alpha was selected to be 0.05. We see that the p-value is 0.072, which is greater than the alpha value 0.05. So we do not reject the null hypothesis.
