Training time V.S reaction time.
In the experiment, the independent variable will be
training time, with two levels -zero
hours and fifty hours of training- and the dependent
variable will be reaction time.
How would you apply T -statistics to the problem?
If the subjects are dependent, i.e, that the trainees under investigation are the same who are observed for zero hours and fifty hours of training, then we would use the paired t-test statistic.
The test statistic, t = xd/sd/√n
If the subjects are independent, i.e, that the trainees under investigation are different who are observed for zero hours from who had fifty hours of training, then we would use the independent samples t-test statistic.
The test statistic, t = (x1 - x2)/sp/√1/n1 + 1/n2
