Please answer all the questions below
In the problems below, give a complete hypothesis test
for each problem. Make sure you include the original claim in
symbols, The null and alternative hypothesis, the significance
level, the actual formula and calculation of the test statistic,
give the p-vale or and drawing of distribution and region. Also
include the decision concerning the null hypothesis and a
conclusion stated in non-technical terms
- Hypertension is defined as a blood pressure reading over 1400
mm Hg systolic and or over 90 mm Hg diastolic. Hypertension if not
corrected can cause long term health problems. IN the college-age
population (18-24 years) about 9.2% have hypertension. Suppose that
a blood donor program is taking place in a college dormitory this
week (during finals week) Before each student gives blood, the
nurse takes a blood pressure reading. OF the 196 donors, it is
found that 29 have hypertension. Do these data indicate that the
population proportion of students with hypertension during finals
week is higher than 9.2%? Use the 1% level of significance
- A machine in the student lounge dispenses the coffee. The
average cup of coffee is supposed to contain 7 ounces. Eighteen
cups of coffee from this machine show the average content to be 7.3
ounces with a standard deviation of 0.5 ounces. Does this sample
provide evidence at the 5% significance level that the average
amount of coffee per cup is greater than 7 ounces?
