Answer #1

1. Genre for movies - Categorical variable (or nominal variable)

A categorical variable (sometimes called a nominal variable) is one that has two or more categories, but there is no intrinsic ordering to the categories.

In this context the genre fir movies has three categories i.e. action , drama, comedy. There is no ordering among these three categories. So genre for movies is a categorical type of data.

2. Name of the director - Nominal variable ( or categorical)

A nominal variable is used to name, label or categorize particular attributes, in this context the name of the director is simply taking a name without having any order. So it is a nominal or categorical variable.
