I need the answer of this question ASAP
1. Assuming that all other factors are kept constant, if an alpha is changed from α= .01 to α=.05:
a) What happens to the boundaries for the critical region?
b) What happens to the probability of a type I error?
c) What happens to the power of the hypothesis test?
Here level of significance is increased from α= .01 to α=.05
So
a) As the level of significance is increased from α= .01 to α=.05, the critical region will become wider so boundaries will shrink.
b) type I error is the level of significance only so as the level of significance is increased from α= .01 to α=.05 then type I error will also increase.
c) The power of the test is directly proportional to type -1 error and so directly proportional to the level of significance
So if the level of significance is increased from α= .01 to α=.05 then power will also increase.
Please give thumbs up if you like the answer.
