b. binomial distribution

c. normal distribution

d. Poisson distribution

Homework Answers

Answer #1

the answer is Binomial Distribution .

Let's consider an example . The probability that in a district , probability that a person is infected by Covid -19 virus is p . Now we take a sample of 100 people . Each of these 100 persons is either infected or not . This is a Bernoulli trial . If we count ,without replacement the number of persons infected , then the count follows a binomial distribution with paramener n=100 and p . Thus the answer .

What distribution best models each situation? (No actual work, just which distribution best models the problem) A. According to the Daily Racing Form, the probability is about 0.67 that the favorite in a horse race will finish in the money (first, second or third place). Suppose that you always bet the favorite “across the board”, which means that you win something if the favorite finishes in the money. What probability distribution describes the number of races that you bet until...
