x = 430

The null and alternative hypothesis is

Upper H₀ : p = 0.88

Upper H_a : p 0.88

This is the two tailed test .

= x / n = 430 / 500 = 0.86

P₀ = 0.88

1 - P₀ = 1 - 0.88 = 0.12

Test statistic = z

= - P₀ / [P_{0 *} (1 - P₀ ) / n]

= 0.86 - 0.88 / [0.88 ( 1 - 0.88 ) / 500 ]
