The assignment is:
Next, in SPSS, run frequency distributions for each of the categorical variables and descriptive statistics for each of the continuous variables. Consider also creating a graph or chart in SPSS to describe these distributions.
For variables that have very small frequencies in at least one category (e.g., less than 7 people in a category), think about combining that category with another if it makes conceptual sense (i.e., there are very few Native Americans, does it make sense to combine them with the Asian group?). See the instructions for recoding variables. Try the recode, give the recoded variable a new name, run a frequency of the new variable (it will be on the bottom of the list of variables), and SAVE THE DATA FILE. IF YOU RECODE OR CREATE NEW VARIABLES, YOU MUST SAVE YOUR DATA FILE TO KEEP THE NEW VARIABLES.
Cut and paste the SPSS output to a word document. Include the frequency distributions or descriptive statistics for each variable of interest. If you have recoded a variable, please include a distribution of just the recoded data (i.e., the new variable). Then, for each distribution, graph, or statistic presented, summarize in words what the data means (i.e., “Approximately half (54%) the sample is female.”) Type the summary below the corresponding SPSS result.
***PLEASE REVIEW AND INDICATE ERRORS OF TABLE AND SUMMARY- NOTE- I DID NOT RECODE VARIABLES- THESE ARE THE ONLY 2 CONTINOUS I AM USING IN THE STUDY.
EXPOSRE- ADDERALL USE / OUTCOME- NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF PERSONAL FACTORS ( THOUGH AGE AND YEARS OF USE ARE NOT RELATED TO SPECIFIC RESEARCH QUESTION- I CAN STILL ADD DATA FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY, CORRECT?

Table 1 Summary:
The average age among all 145 respondents is 26.5 years and combined produced an average of just under 5 ½ total years consuming Adderall. The least amount of total usage is less than 1 year and the the maximum amount is exactly at the 23 year mark which coincides with release date of the drug in 1996.
hi you are thinking in the right direction however note that the mean << max so there will only be a few prople wha have used Adreall for 23 years or this could be a data error. A good way to see this is to plot the data. Also consider getting the quantile data. that gives muh better idea how data is ditributed/.
lastly you shoud bucket age and see the average years of use in each bucket to see the level of abuse across age. Right now we're not sure how absue years is varyign with age.
