We will be using Google Sheets to simulate a normal distribution with a mean of 650 and a standard deviation of 8. Please note there are five parts to this question.
First, generate a random sample of 12 data points from a normally distribution population (using the =norminv command in Google Sheets). Create a histogram where the first bin starts at 628 and the width of each bin is 4. Save that histogram as an image file and attach it here.
PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!! I NEED HELP TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO IT. THANKS
>> Using this function in excel to generate the required normal distribution with mean 650 and standard deviation 8. Here RAND() function is used to generate a probability value between 0 to 1
the function is =NORMINV(RAND(),650,8)
>> for generating a histogram make bins like
Bin |
628 |
632 |
636 |
640 |
644 |
648 |
652 |
656 |
660 |
GO to data>> data analysis>> select histogram>>select data and bin range>> label tick>>select chart output>>ok
NOTE: somewhat looks like normal distribution with a mean around 650. With more data grater than 12( may be 50-60) data points normal curve will fits better
