Solution :

We know that the p-value is the probability of getting results atleast as extreme as observed during the test.

Hence for upper (or right) tailed Z- test, p-value is:

p-value = p(Z > Z0), where Z0 is the value of test statistic and Z follows standard normal distribution.  

For the example in hand, we have p-value=0.0268

i.e P(Z > Z0) = 0.0268

i.e P(Z< Z0) = 1 - 0.0268

i.e P(Z < Z0) = 0.9732

(Using standard normal probability table P(Z<1.93)=0.9732)

Hence Z0 = 1.93

Hence value of test statistic is 1.93.

Answer : Value of test statistic, z value is 1.93.
