(b) A local brewer observes that in a random sample of 100 women, 35 prefer light ale, 20 prefer pilsner, and 45 prefer a heavier malt brew. Test the hypothesis that women’s preference is equal for the three types of beer.

(c) The graduating averages of high school students in a large city are normally distributed with a mean of 79 and a standard deviation of 14. A random sample of 25 students from one of the schools has a mean of 85. Are the students from this school at par with the city average?
