Answer #1

Solution:-

a) The probability that 1 of the next 5 devices sold are laptops is 0.0064

p = 0.80, n = 5

x = 1

By applying binomial distribution:-

P(x,n) = nCx*px*(1-p)(n-x)

P(x = 1) = 0.0064

b) The probability that at least 3 of the next 5 devices sold are tablets is 0.05792.

p = 0.20, n = 5

x = 3

By applying binomial distribution:-

P(x,n) = nCx*px*(1-p)(n-x)

P(x > 3) = 0.05792

c) The probability that at most 2 of the next 5 devices sold are laptops is 0.05792

p = 0.80, n = 5

x = 2

By applying binomial distribution:-

P(x,n) = nCx*px*(1-p)(n-x)

P(x < 2) = 0.05792
