Answers are in bolded with all calculations provided below

We are given that the Total marks is equal to 6 blue +10 white +5 black = 21 marks.

Lets use this info to answers the 2 parts.

1)

P(getting 1 blue, and 1 white mark if 1st mark is replaced)

= (6/21)*(10/21) [after the 1st draw is replaced we are still left with 21 total marks]

= 0.1361

2)

P(getting 1 blue, and 1 white mark if 1st mark is NOT replaced)

[after 1st draw we are left with only 20 marks , with 1 blue mark already withdrawn]

= (6/21)*(10/20)

= 0.1429

Suppose your top drawer contains 36 different colored socks: 12 are white, 10 are black, 6 are pink, and 8 are blue. All socks in the drawer are loose (not paired). In the morning, you randomly select two socks, one at a time. Use a probability tree to calculate the following probabilities, approximating your final result to 4 decimal places. Note: creat a probability tree and the computations necessary to determine the following probabilities. a) What is the probability that...

Exercise 2 A box contains 3 white balls, 4 red balls and 5 black balls. A ball is picked, its color recorded and returned to the box(with replacement). Another ball is then selected and its color recorded. 1. Find the probability that 2 black balls are selected. 2. Find the probability that 2 balls of the same color are selected. Two balls are chosen randomly from an urn containing 5 black and 5 white balls. Suppose that we win $1 for each black ball selected and we lose $1 for each white ball selected. Denote our winnings by a random variable X. (a) (4 points) Provide the probability distribution of X. (b) (2 points) Using the result in (a), what is the probability that 0 ≤ X ≤ 2?

Let's say I have a bag of marbles. There are 5 different colors: white, black, blue, yellow and red. The claimed ratio of white to black to blue to yellow to red is 1:3:9:1:1. I want to pick a blue marble with closed eyes. I try seven times and get only one blue marble. Is the claimed ratio of blue marbles to other colors overestimated? Use alpha 0.05.
