In six sigma, process is allowed to move with 1.5sigma along with the both sides of means.

So, from the left side of the curve we have (6sigma-1.5sigma)= 4.5sigma

And, from the right side of the sigma we have (-6sigma-1.5sigma)= -7.5sigma

With this rejection rate would be 3.4 million defects per million opportunities.

For the mathematical reason please look into the attachment graph i have drawn using R program.

So, yes i agree with the statement.
