Explain what an F value of .80 with a significance level of .01 indicates?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

F statistics is used to find out the significant difference between two population mean in ANOVA or a regression analysis at ceratin signifcance level.

Let Null Hypothisis

H0 :There is no significance difference between two population means at ? level of Significane i.e. ?= 0.01

Alternate Hypothisis

H1 : There is significance difference between two population means at ? level of Significane i.e. ?= 0.01

If F value is large than tabulated value at ? level of Significane i.e. ?= 0.01 then we reject the null Hypothesies otherwise we accepts the null hypothisis.

Here F value is 0.80 at 0.01 level of signifcance which is less than 1 hence we may accept the null hypothisis i.e there is no sinificance difference between two population mean.
