8. Carry-over effects are a disadvantage of related-samples t-tests. False or true?

Answer #1

Answer: True

The carry over effects are the effects of the previous treatment which is carry forward in the current treatment. If the effects of the previous treatments are not clear then it carry forward some effects in the paired data. So, these carry over effects produces biased results for the paired t-test or related samples t tests. For example, if we check the effect of two different brand drugs on the same group of subjects, and we given first drug to subjects and do not provide sufficient time period to end the carry over effects of the first drug before test for second drug. Thus this is the disadvantage of a related samples t tests.
