a technique to reduce test anxiety was used on 20 students that had self identified as having test anxiety at the beginning of the semester. the students filled out the the test anxiety questionnaire before they learned the technique to reduce their level of anxiety just before midterms. After they learned and applied the technique to reduce test_ anxiety during the second half of the semester, they filled out the test anxiety questionnaire a second time before final exams. is this independent variable experimental oe quasi? what is the independent variable and what is the dependent variable.

Going by the definition of quasi-independent variable, In experimental design, any of the personal attributes, traits, or behaviors that are inseparable from an individual and cannot reasonably be manipulated.

In the mentioned experiment, the behaviour of the students are inseparable and cannot be modified. The same students filled up the questionnaire before and after learning the technique of reducung anxiety level.

Independent variable is defined as a variable whose values are not dependent on other variable.For example time is an independent variable with respect to ageing of a person. Here we can not do anything on time, but age is a dependent variable with respect to time.
