Explain the differences among the mean, median, and mode. Give an example in which the researcher might be interested in each of these measures of central tendency.
Solution:
1,2,1,3,4,5,2,2,6,2,7,25.
suppose this is the data for further analysis
1)
mean : mean is the average value of the all data points. it can be aplicable only for quantitaive data
mean = sum of all observation / total number of observation
mean = 60/12
mean = 5
2) Median : Median is the midale most observation in the data when data is arranged in the accending or decending order .
median = (n/2)th observation
median = 6th observation when data is arranged in accending order
median = 2
3) Mode : mode is the most repeated observation in the data
therefore
mode = 2
for all the above central tendacy we say there is affect of oulier in only on the mean beacuse it is depend on all the observation here outlier is 25 becasue which is very high than all other observation
