Name four point estimators for the population mean. (One word names only!)
Sample Mean, Trimmed Sample Mean, Mid-point of 95% CI for Population Mean, Hodges-Lehmann Estimator.
(Well technically, any function of the sample is an estimator. The above 4 are kind of good estimators. The sample mean is obvious. The trimmed mean is taken by removing some percentage of points, from both the tails and taking the mean of the rest. It is a robust alternative to the sample mean. The mid point of a CI is a good choice for an estimator of the population mean in the statistical literature. The Hodges-Lehmann estimator is a good choice especially when the distribution is symmetric about the mean (It should be avoided for heavily skewed distributions).)
