A researcher is trying to test if the mean perception on service quality of digital wallet differs significantly between two different age-groups of the respondents. Which inferential statistics should be used?

Independent Sample t-test

One Sample t-test

One-way ANOVA

Paired-Sample t-test

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans . Paired sample t-test

Reason: Paired Sample t-test is used when we are interested in the difference between two variables of same subject( quality of digital wallet service).Often the two variables are separated by time ( different age groups).

Independent Sample t-test

It is used to compare means of two independent data. But here, it is dependent data. Since aged people or young people's perception could affect another's perception.

One Sample t-test

It is used to test the difference between sample mean and population mean.

One way ANOVA

It is used to determine whether there are any statistically significant differences between two or more samples. But we use it when there are minimum three groups instead of two.
