Question

How do you create a Two Way ANOVA table for the following scenario?

I'm creating an apple pie and want to consider different types of apples and crusts and see if they have any sort of effects on the taste of the apple pie.

My Null Hypothesis would be that there is no significant difference between means of apples and crust

My Alternative hypothesis would be that there is a significant difference between means of apples and crust

I am kind of confused on how I would set up my table.

And with this being said, what would the main and interaction effects be? and which test of significance would I use? Would it be the F-Test?

Answer #1

Data would be like

Apple1 | Apple2 | Apple3 | |

Crust1 | |||

Crust1 | |||

Crust2 | |||

Crust2 | |||

Crust3 | |||

Crust3 |

My Null Hypothesis would be that there is no significant difference between means of apples, means of crust and no interaction effect

My Alternative hypothesis would be atleast one is there ( a significant difference between means of apples, means of crust and interaction effect )

We have to use TWO Way ANOVA test ( F test)

Results table would be like:

ANOVA | ||||||

Source of Variation | SS | df | MS | F | P-value | F crit |

Sample | ||||||

Columns | ||||||

Interaction | ||||||

Within | ||||||

Total |

One way Anova Test Question. If I am trying to make an apple pie
and I want to use an ANOVA test, could I compare different types of
apples (such as Gala vs. Fuji) as a factor?
And if so what would the null and alternative hypothesis be? And
which test would I use for the test of significance and hypothesis
test?

Consider the following partially completed two-way ANOVA table.
Suppose there are 2 levels of Factor A and 3 levels of Factor B.
The number of replications per cell is 3. Use the 0.01 significance
level. (Hint: estimate the values from the F table.)

Using the table below, would you please check my answers. The
answer for the p-value is supposed to be 0.0000; however, I
keep getting 0.9999999977 as the answer. How
do you find the correct p-value? Where am I going wrong in my
calculation?

An ANOVA test is conducted to compare three different income tax
software packages to determine whether there is any difference in
the average time it takes to prepare income tax returns using the

income tax returns are done by each of the three software packages
and the time is recorded for each. Because individual tax returns

For each scenario below, do the following:
(1) Indicate which procedure you would use: (i) two-independent
sample t-test, (ii) paired t- test, (iii) chi-square
goodness-of-fit test, (iv) chi-square test of independence, (v)
t-test of a regression coefficient, (vi) an F −test for multiple
regression, (vii) a one-way ANOVA, or (viii) a two-way ANOVA.
(2) Based on your answer in (1), state the appropriate null and
alternative hypotheses.
(3) For all procedures except (i), state the degrees of
freedom(s) for the...

1. After performing an ANOVA test, with (3,4) degrees of
freedom, for data collected during an experiment trying to
determine if there is at least one difference between groups. You
get a calculated F value of 7.52. Using the table below, find the
appropriate critical F value. What should be your conclusion(s),
based on those 2 F values and α?
