Find:

a) State the Null and Alternate Hypothesis.

b) Find the critical value(s) and sketch the critical region.

c) Calculate the test statistic and show where it falls on your sketch.

d) Make your decision and answer any question posed in the problem.

In order to decide between two locations to construct a gas station, the company kept a count of cars passing by each location for the next 11 hours. The mean number of cars passing Location 1 each hour was 305 with a sample standard deviation of 8. Location 2's results were mean of 300 with a sample standard deviation of 12. Do these results indicate any difference in the mean amount of cars passing these locations that should be taken into account when the decision is made? Use α = .05.
