a random sample of 500 customers is asked to comment on the take-out service at the Chicken Hut. Of the 500 customers surveyed, 400 said it was excellent, 32 thought it was fair, and the remaining customers had no opinion. On the basis of these sample findings, make an inference about the reaction of all customers to the take-out service

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Excellent = 400

Fair = 32

No opinion = 500 - (400+32) = 68

Here, (400/500) x 100 = 80% of the people rates the take-out service as excellent and only 6.4% rates the service as fair. Also, 13.6% have no opinion regarding the service. From this information, it is clear that a vast majority of the customers are satisfied with the service provided and if we randomly pick a customer, we have 80% probability of finding a customer that rated the service excellent. There is still, some scope for improvement as the remaining 20% rated the service as poor or had no opinion.
