a) mean

b) mode

c) range

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution =

Given , n = 9

a data set, 4, 9, 8, 2, 16, 4, 4, 9, 6

a) The mean,

Sample mean = Σx/n

= 62/9

= 6.89

Mean = 6.89

b) The mode,

Arrange the data ascending order,

2, 4, 4, 4, 6, 8, 9, 9, 16

The mode of a data set is the number that occurs most frequently in the set

Mode = 4 , appeared 3 times

c) The Range ,

The range of a set of data is the difference between the highest and lowest values in the set.

The range = highest value - lowest value

= 16 - 2

= 14

The range = 14
