In reviewing a scatterplot for a set of data, no relation is visible among the data points. Should linear regression be used to further analyze the data? Explain why or why not.

Answer #1

See we used scatter plot for chaking relationship/correlation between dependent variable and independent variable

If this scatter plot does not show any relationship then the first assumption linear regression is false so we can't proceed for the linear regression.

Because we predict dependent variable value based on indpendent variable But there is no relation between this two variable that means how can we predict

That's why relationship/correlation is must for regression.

Best of luck :)
