All the other options are used in testing. For example, a Chi-square distribution is used to test the variance

The standard normal distribution is also used in finding out Z score and then to test hypotheses based on the population/sample mean. A t-distribution is used to test the sample meanwhen the population standard deviation is not known.

The problem given here is to estimate the population mean and for doing this, the distributional assumptions are in general not needed.
