Answer #1
X P(X)
1 0.22
2 0.27
3 0.30
4 0.21

X is a discrete random variable having values = 1,2,3,4

P(X) is the Probability distribution of X which gives probability of X having a certain value. for e.g P(X=2) = 0.27

Mean of a discrete probability distribution is given by : Mean = μx = Σ [ xi * P(xi) ]

So Mean for given distribution is = 1* 0.22 + 2* 0.27 + 3* 0.30 + 4* 0.21 = 2.48

Mean = 2.48 = 2.5
