How can I create a scatter plot where I have my variables?
Scatter Plot - A scatter plot uses dots to represent values for two different numeric variables. The position of each dot on the horizontal and vertical axis indicates values for an individual data point. Scatter plots are used to observe relationships between variables.
In order to create a scatter plot when we have our variables, the following steps are used-
1) Traditionally, the dependent or response variable usually taken as Y is plotted on Y -axis and independent or predictor variable is plotted on X- axis , in a 2-D plane.
2) Since we have independent variables and their corresponding dependent variables ,we represent these pairs (xi, yi) as a dot in XY- plane and eventually we have a cluster of dots in XY-plane ,which is termed as Scatter plot.
