Answer #1

Solution:

Given that,

7.6, 13.2, 3.1, 5.6, 12.3, 9.4

a )The mean of sample is

x/n =  (7.6+ 13.2+ 3.1+ 5.6+ 12.3+ 9.4 / 6)

= 8.53

The sample mean is 8.53

Sample standard deviation is s

s = 1/(n-1)(x - )2

=  1/5 (7.6 - 8.53 )2+ (13.2 - 8.53 )2+ (3.1 - 8.53)2+ (5.6- 8.53 )2 +( 12.3 - 8.53 )2+( 9.4 - 8.53 )2

= 15.142666666667

= 3.89

The sample standard deviation is 3.89
