Total non face cards in a standard deck of cards is = 52 - 12 = 40

Total cards of number “3” in a standard deck of cards = 4.

So, the probability that a randomly picked card is a non face card = 40/52

The Probability that a randomly picked card is a 3 =

= 4/52

So, the probability that from a standard deck of cards, a randomly picked card is the number “3” , when it is given that the card is a non face card =

(The probability of getting a 3 from the standard deck without face cards * The probability of getting a non face card) / The probability of getting a non face card from the standard deck

= (4/40) * (40/52) / (40/52)

= 1/10

= 0.1.
