1) The formula of mean is as , mean=

f=frequecy,x=test score,N=total of frequecies

Use following table to get numerator,

Therefore,

mean score =116/20=5.8

2) Meadian:

Total of frequncy = 20(even number)

Since the number of scores is even, the median is at the average of the (n/2)th=(20/2)=10th position and [(n/2)+1] = 11th position

To find out the 10th position and 11th position, we add up the frequencies as shown:

The score at the 10th position is 5 and the score at the 11th position is 5. The median is the average of the scores at 10th and 11th positions=(5+5)/2=5

Therefore,median score=5
