Are respondents to the 2012 GSS generally satisfied that the government is doing enough to halt the rising crime rate (variable NATCRIME) and deal with drug addiction (variable NATDRUG)? From the descriptive statistics, we find that for

Halting rising crime rate - About 59.4 % of respondents feel the government is too little to stop the rising crime rate. On the other hand, 40% feel that the government is doing right in stopping the rising crime rate.

With regard to dealing with drug addiction about 57.5% of respondents fell that the government is doing too little to reduce drug addiction. While 42% fell that the government is doing sufficient to reduce drug addiction.

Hence one a whole about 58% of respondents are not satisfied with the government actions to halt the rise in crime and drug addiction.
