Which measurement is affected by the extremely high or low value?

Which measurement is affected by the extremely high or low value?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Since we know that, in statistics the range of a set of data is the difference between the largest and smallest values.

Since range is the most obvious measure of dispersion and the range is based solely on the two most extreme values within the dataset, if one of these is either exceptionally high or low it will result in a range that is not typical of the variability within the dataset.

Thus we can say that ' Range' is affected by the extremely high or low value in the given data set.
