As the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic continues to explode, hospital systems are scrambling to intensify their measures for protecting patients and health care workers from the virus. Masking in is already part of routine operations for most hospitals. On April 1, 2020, the hospital administrators of two large hospital systems implemented different strategies to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection among their hospitalized patients of whom none had the SARS-CoV-2 infection at this time. The Duffy duck healthcare system mandated that all visitors of patients wear facemask when coming to the hospital. However, visitors could remove their masks when talking with their hospitalized relatives in their rooms. The Bugs bunny healthcare system mandated that all visitors of patients wear facemask at all times even when alone with their hospitalized relatives in their rooms. Of note, visitors were not allowed to stay overnight. The cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection among hospitalized patients in these two healthcare systems at the end of July 21, 2020 are presented in the table below please show calculations.
