What effect does changing the value of ‘p’ have on the SHAPE of the binomial distribution (normal, skewed left, skewed right)? Can you generalize the shape of the distribution with respect to whether ‘p’ is less than, greater than or equal to 50%?

  • Less than 0.5 we have positively skewed or skewed right
  • 0.5 we have normal
  • More than 0.5 we have negatively skewed or skewed left
