It is important because the characteristic of people largely reflects the class in which they are classified.

For ex. If your parents are highly educated, more is the chance that you will have access to higher education compared to others.

If your parents are rich you are bound to develop the mentality and habits which are unique for that class

In short, your class will determine your habits.
