Refer to the accompanying data set and use the 25 home voltage measurements to construct a frequency distribution with five classes. Begin with a lower class limit of 120.5 volts, and use a class width of 0.2 volt. Does the result appear to have a normal distribution? Why or why not?

Answer #1

Answer:

The Frequency distribution is given below:

Voltage (volts) Frequency
120.5 - 120.6 2
120.7 - 120.8 6
120.9 - 121.0 10
121.1 - 121.2 5
121.3 - 121.4 2

The results appear to have a normal distribution , because the frequencies of initial class interval is  low, reach a maximum at middle class interval, then become low again of ending class intervals , and are roughly symmetric and bellshaped about the maximum frequency( center of the data)
