Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution:

The sample mean is

Mean = (x / n) )

= ( 55+53+70+54+51+62+65+72+51+57+50 /11 )

=640 /11

=58.181

Mean = 58.18

Median :
Observations in the ascending order are :
50,51,51,53,54,55,57,62,65,70,72

Here, n=11 is odd

.M= value of (n+1 ) / 2)th observation

= value of (11+12)th observation

= value of 6th observation

=55

Median = 55

Mode :
In the given data, the observation 51 occurs maximum number of times (2)

∴Z=51
