The NFL Scouting Combine is a week-long showcase that takes
place every February, where college football players perform
physical and mental tests in front of National Football League
coaches, general managers, and scouts. Athletes attend by
invitation only and their performance during the combine can affect
their draft status and salary, and ultimately their career. Several
of the tasks the players compete in are meant to measure their
speed – 20yd shuttle, 40yd dash and 60yd shuttle. The ANOVA output
on the cover page uses data from the 2014 combine to compare the
average time to run the 40yd dash (in seconds) for players of
several different positions.
Identify:
1. Response variable(s)
2. Treatment(s)
3. Experimental unit(s)
4. Replication(s)
a) seconds b) players c) positions d) 40yd dash time e) sixteen
One way ANOVA will be performed to measure the average time to run 40 yd dash for college football players from several different positions.
Response variable: time needed to run 40 yd dash for each participants joined the NFL scouting combine 2014
Treatments:the task of 40 yd dash.
Experimental units: the college football players participated in the NFL scouting combine 2014
