A researcher reported that the 95% confidence interval for the mean ranged from 460 to 540. He knew that the population is normally distributed. He was sure that the mean of the sample was 500, the standard deviation of the sample was 160, but he could not remember the exact sample size. Can we help him out finding the sample size?

Select one:

A. 8

B. 62

C. 16

D. 44

A researcher computed 90%, 95%, 98% and 99% confidence intervals for a population mean. However, he forgot to record which interval was which, and he cannot find the sample data to allow him to recreate the intervals from scratch. He now needs only the 99% confidence interval. As you saw from the lab PowerPoint slides last week, you will be doing a research study looking at ‘Aggression Priming” for your first paper. For this week’s discussion, I want you to discuss with your group what you think this study is about. What is the hypothesis? What theory does it come from? What do you predict will happen (do you expect something different than the hypothesis in the researcher instructions? If so, what and why?)? Do you think...
