What is the difference between "statistically different from 0" and "significantly different from 0"? say if my p-value for some co-efficient came out to be 0.701 then how do we answer in terms of the two above? is it like saying "since p>.10 the variable is not statistically / significantly different from 0" ? or which word (statistically vs significantly) should I use ?

You are given a chi square to fill out with 4 different observed values: 0, 54, 36, and 18. These numbers represent the 4 different phenotypes of offspring. If you have an observed value of 0 for one of these variables, can it even be included as a probability? Would that row just be disregarded from the data, and as a result you would have to adjust the degrees of freedom? (From 4 categories to 3, then - 1) Had...

Is the national crime rate really going down? Some sociologists say yes! They say that the reason for the decline in crime rates in the 1980s and 1990s is demographics. It seems that the population is aging, and older people commit fewer crimes. According to the FBI and the Justice Department, 70% of all arrests are of males aged 15 to 34 years†. You are interested in whether the average lifetime of Duracell AAA batteries is different from the average lifetime of Energizer AAA batteries. You lay out your hypotheses as follows: Null Hypothesis: μ1 = μ2, Alternative Hypothesis: μ1 ≠ μ2. After running a two independent samples t-test, you see a p-value of 0.2756. What is the appropriate conclusion? Question options: 1) The average lifetime of Duracell AAA batteries is significantly different from the average lifetime of Energizer AAA batteries. 2) We...
