Yes, In today's world the prime work of any statistician is to analyse the data and collect information and then to draw the inference. No one is much interested in knowing the the ways the various statistics are calculated as they are not going to calculate it by hands .All the calculation process are done by advance software and as a statistician our work is to interpret the calculated statistics and then to draw conclusions. From any raw data the most important thing is to collect information regarding subject matter and one who know how to interpret statistical techniques can easily do that and he / she should not worry in knowing the ways of calculation.
