If the correlation coefficient is close to 0, can you conclude the 2 variables have no relation? Explain your answer
A correlation coefficient is a numerical measure of some type of correlation, meaning a statistical relationship between two variables.
Correlation coefficient is used in measuring strength of relationship between two variables.
Positive correlation is relationship between two variables in which both variables move in tandem i.e., in same direction.
Negative correlation or inverse correlation is relationship between two variables whereby they move in opposite directions.
A value of zero correlation coefficient indicates that there is no relationship between the two variables , i.e., change in one's value has no effect on the other.
