because, the likert scale is a rating scale used for recording opinions of people during the survey. This likert scale is also used to take feedback about service. This scale provides you options which are having some rank.

for example,

likert scle option for feedback regarding service are having rank options as follows:

1) very unsatisfied, 2) unsatisfied, 3) neutral, 4) satisfied, 5) very satisfied.

Thus this type of data is having some rank or order hence, likert scale is used to measure Ordinal variables.
