A college instructor wants to try two different teaching methods to introduce a challenging topic in class. This instructor randomly assigned students to two groups: the first group was taught using method A, and the second group using method B. After that, both groups of students took a 15-point assessment test with the following results:

group A: 2, 2, 3, 3, 1, 7, 9, 10,12

group B: 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 8

The mean and standard deviation of assessment score for both the group is obtained in excel. The screenshot is shown below,

From the above result we can see that the mean for group B is greater than group A and the standard deviation of group B is less than group A.

This results shows that the group B obtained greater mean score and there is a less variability of score among the students which mean the teaching method is effective among all the students hence method B is more effective
