(1) What is sampling? What is a representative sample? What can researchers do to increase the
representativeness of their samples?
What is sampling ?
Sampling is the process use in daily routine for statistical analysis in which definite number of observation from a larger population.
What is a representative sample?
Representative sampling is set or group that appeal for accurately representing the characteristics of the larger population.
Example: Let assume that number of classroom student are 40 with 20 male and 20 female. Now generate representative sample of size 10 that involved 5 male and 5 female.
What can researchers do to increase the representative of their sample?
The research can use probabilistic sampling to acquire representative sample then use simple random sample is best way to research. In addition , researcher use non-probability sample in which sample have been selected on the bases of judgement of research.
