Data from drug stability study shows non-linear relationship between storage time and the concentration of degradation product in tablets. That relationship is best described by an exponential equation C=C0*exp(k*t) , where t – storage time (in months), C and C0 are current (at time t) and initial concentrations of the degradant, respectively; and k – reaction constant. We have the data for C, C0 and t for multiple tablet samples measured every 6 months over 36-months period. Can we use the linear regression method to estimate the reaction constant k from that data? Please explain.
