From a poll of 800 television viewers, the following data have been accumulated as to their levels of education and their preference of television station. We are interested in determining if the selection of a TV station is independent of the level of education.

Chi square formula

Expected frequencies = (Row total* Column Total) /Grand Total.

Degree of freedom =(Row-1)(Column-1) =(2-1)*(3-1)=2

Chi square test statistic value is =12.09

P value is =0.0024<0.01

Therefore, we reject H0.

Conclusion : We can say that , at TV station is not independent of the level of education.
