1) Is it possible to be 100% confident when using a confidence interval to estimate a population characteristic? Explain
2)Which disaster is more likely and why?
a. A large flood in Japan in which more than 1000 people die.
b. A large flood in Japan caused by an earthquake in which more than 1000 people die.
3)Suppose that in a random sample of voters, 70% favor gun control. Is it okay to then say that 70% of the population favor gun control? Why or why not?
4)When you're using sample data to describe a population, why is it important to use a random sample?
1) yes it possible to be 100% confident when using a confidence interval to estimate a population charateristics if we have a whole of the population observaton and we calculate the parameters.
2) Option (b) would be more disasterous because now, two forces acting one after the other hence would lead to more distruction.
3)No we cannot exactly tell that 70% of the voters support gun control because there might be error in he estimate which should be considered or should be taken into account but we are not considering them.
4) It is very much important to have a random sample because it prevents the bias to come into the estimates and prevents from absard results.
